Race Packet Pick-up:

  • Saturday: August 1, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Yeatman’s Cove
  • Sunday: August 2, 5:00 AM – 6:30 AM at Yeatman’s Cove (before race starts)

Participants are strongly recommended to pick up their packet & timing chip on Saturday. 

Bike Racking:

  • Saturday: August 1, 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM is highly recommended. It is mandatory that all bikes are racked before the transition area closes on Sunday. 

IMPORTANT: Should athletes arrive late to rack their bike, they will not be allowed to participate. 

Packet pick up by Others:

  • Allowed with athlete’s ID copy and written authorization.

 Overnight security:

  • Yes, at Yeatman’s Cove.

 Parking:

Non-Swimmer Options:

  • Team relays (2-3 people) or duathlon options available

Bike Course Safety:

  • Bike Course is a multi-lane major city highway and is inaccessible before race day to practice riding a bike. 

Ohio River Water Temperature:

  • Low 70s to upper 70s in June. Wetsuits will be allowed if under 78 degrees. 

Swim caps:

Pre-Race Swim Warm-up:

  • Allowed near the river with safety is in place and announced. Swimming the course is not allowed.

 Bike Couse Aid Stations:

  • None. Carry your own hydration and nutrition with you on the bike.

Course Markings:

  • Clearly marked swim, bike, and run courses.

Finishers Medal:

  • Yes, for every athlete that finishes the race. 

Athlete Guide:

  • Emailed 7-10 days before the event; all athlete information is primarily located on the event site.

Weather Policy:

  • The event may be delayed or canceled due to adverse, inclement, or unsafe weather. The delay will be communicated to all participants.
  • The event management team and local law enforcement have the authority to cancel an event. If cancellation of an event takes place, please follow the instructions of the event officials and local law enforcement personnel.
  • Your entry fee is not refundable if an event is canceled due to adverse, inclement, or unsafe weather.

Race Re-Scheduling for Cancellation:

  • No, the race will not be rescheduled if cancelled, too complex to reschedule.  

Race Adjustments:

  • Possible due to weather or other factors. Any race adjustments will be communicated through HFP social media, email, etc.

Race Distance Change:

  • To change your race distance, follow the Transfer link received in your event registration confirmation email. All transfers must be completed by 3 days before event day.
  • There is no on-site registration.

Racing Age:

  • Age as of December 31 determines age group.

Swim cancellation:

  • Triathlon will be a duathlon (run-bike-run) and the aquabike will be a time trial bike race. 


USAT Membership:

  • This is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event. To participate in the Queen City, each participant must have either a USAT Annual Membership or a USAT One-Day License to participate in this event.  During registration, each participant will give their annual membership number or buy a one-day license.

Bike Tire Pumping:

  • Tech support with pumps available race morning, bring special adapters if needed. Also, bring your own bike pump permitted.
